Period

1933

This 1933 Republic of Cuba one peso silver coin has been authenticated and encapsulated by the Numismatic Guaranty Company (NGC). The coin features the iconic five-pointed star on the obverse, surrounded by the inscription "Patria y Libertad" and the date 1933.

The reverse displays the Cuban coat of arms, encircled by the legend "Republica de Cuba" along with the denomination. The coin is presented in an official NGC holder, identified by certification number 2901434-006. It carries an "UNC Details – Cleaned" designation from the grading service, which reflects that the coin retains uncirculated details despite showing physical evidence of having been cleaned. The specimen remains sealed within its protective plastic slab, which exhibits minor signs of handling wear consistent with long-term storage.

Due to its encapsulated state, the coin has not been examined outside of the holder. This piece serves as a notable example of 20th-century Cuban numismatics, representing the circulation currency of the period.
