Period

1938

This original German donation stick pin was issued during the 1938 Winterhilfswerk (WHW) campaign in partnership with the Deutscher Schützenverband (German Shooting Association).

The item is a shield-shaped badge crafted from stamped metal with a bronze or copper finish. Its design features the insignia of the German Shooting Association at the top, consisting of a target surmounted by a national eagle and swastika. Below this central motif, the initials "W H W" are prominently displayed alongside the year "1938." The text "DEUTSCHER SCHÜTZENVERBAND" is inscribed along the bottom curve of the shield.

The reverse side of the badge is equipped with a long, knurled stick pin designed for attachment to a lapel. The badge measures 28mm by 18.5mm. This piece was distributed to donors during street collections, serving as a material representation of the support for both state-sponsored charitable initiatives and pre-military training through organized shooting activities during the Third Reich era.
