This is a significant example of a Kriegsmarine deck watch (B-Uhr) produced by A. Lange & Söhne in Glashütte around 1944. It is a Lépine-style open-face gentleman's pocket watch featuring a silver-coloured metal case with a detachable back and hinged dust cover.
The watch incorporates a fluted ball crown at 12 o'clock and a lateral hand-setting lever positioned at 1 o'clock. The dial is silver-coloured with black Arabic numerals and a railway minute track, accented by blued hands including a pear-shaped hour hand. It includes two sunken subsidiary dials: a power reserve indicator (marked "AUF" and "AB" with a scale of 7 to 28) at 9 o'clock and a subsidiary seconds dial at 3 o'clock.
The movement is a gold-coloured plate calibre 48 with crown winding, a compensation balance with weight screws, a swan-neck regulator, and jewels set in gold-coloured chatons. The watch bears multiple serial numbers and navy markings (M 11453) on the case back, underscoring its historical military application as a high-precision observation timepiece.
