This Cayman Islands one dollar banknote is an official piece of legal tender issued under the Cayman Islands Currency Law (Revised) as part of the 1996 Series. Measuring 6.25 inches in width by 2.5 inches in height and weighing 2.6 grams, this paper currency showcases a high level of intricate design.

The obverse features a portrait of Queen Elizabeth II wearing the Girls of Great Britain and Ireland Tiara, accompanied by the Cayman Islands coat of arms and a graphic of a treasure chest. The note is marked with the printed signature of G.A. McCarthy, serving as Chairman, and bears the serial number B/1 215512 printed in black. The reverse side of the banknote transitions to a marine theme, depicting an underwater scene filled with coral and a French Angelfish.

This security-printed banknote was produced by the printer Thomas De La Rue Limited, representing a standard example of late 20th-century Caribbean numismatic design.
