Museum description: Silver case with two covers; white enamelled dial with Arabic numerals for hours and minutes (in 15-minute intervals); calendar for the days of the month, marked in 2-day intervals with Arabic numerals; two hands; fusee and chain movement; verge escapement; pierced balance cock; the piece is inscribed on the movement plate.; remarks: The piece is in good condition, retaining all original components of the case and movement.
It is of an extremely rare occurrence, being the only pocket watch known to date made in a Romanian historic province. It is a piece characteristic of the second half of the 18th century, through its technical components and the decoration of the balance cock, specific to the Baroque style.; inscription [German]: Aloisius Römy in Hermanstadt No. 86 (Aloisius Römy in Sibiu), The museum record gives measurements D = 6.3 cm.
