The Montblanc Patron of Art 4810 Max von Oppenheim fountain pen is a distinguished limited edition writing instrument released in 2009. Numbered 3080 of a production run of 4810, this pen pays tribute to the German archaeologist Max von Oppenheim.
Its cap and barrel are crafted from 925 sterling silver, featuring a textured gray lacquer pattern of small triangles reminiscent of stone reliefs discovered at the Tell Halaf archaeological site. The design is accented with gold-plated trim on the bands and clip, while the top of the cap is crowned with an ivory-colored Montblanc star emblem set in precious resin. The pen is equipped with a hand-crafted 18K rhodium-plated gold nib, which is intricately engraved with a camel and a Bedouin motif.
Functionality is provided by a piston filling system. The pen is presented in its original black lacquer display box, which includes a metal nameplate, service certificate, and outer cardboard packaging. Markings include "Montblanc Germany" on the cap band and "4810 750 18K" on the nib.
