Period

1850-1894

The black precious resin barrel is decorated with engraved crosses, including a prominent "X" marking the treasure location, while the cap features vertical lines mimicking the planks of the schooner Hispaniola.

The platinum-coated clip, shaped like a nautical belaying pin, sits above a compass rose engraved on the cap. The cap top is crowned by the Maison's emblem elevated by a pirate's skull and crossbones symbol. Cap ring engraved with the author's signature, his life dates (1850-1894), and the year 1866. Handcrafted solid 18K (750°/00) rhodium-coated gold nib engraved with delicate waves and the title "Tusitala". Released in 2023 as part of the renowned Writers Edition collection, this writing instrument pays tribute to the author of Treasure Island, with an overall silhouette reminiscent of a historic extendable spyglass.
