This Montblanc Writers Edition fountain pen, released in 2016, pays tribute to William Shakespeare. The writing instrument features a black and white resin barrel, with colors inspired by the flags traditionally flown at theaters to signify comedy or tragedy.

It is decorated with 18kt yellow gold ornamentation and details. The cap, which features a screw mechanism, includes an octagonal capital inspired by the Globe Theater's roof and an engraved serial number, here indicated as 5290/8700. The barrel includes an engraving of a quill feather, while the clip ring is designed to evoke the gold earring worn by the playwright. A central gold-plated ring is embossed with seven symbols representing Shakespeare's plays, including a rose, dagger, skull, chess pieces, a coat of arms, a crown, and a laurel wreath.

The nib is crafted from 18-karat 750 gold, hand-engraved with a multi-story stage motif. The pen is a cartridge loading model measuring 14.20 cm in length. This limited edition piece includes its original box and documentation.
