This original vintage poster for Pacific Cigarettes was designed by the acclaimed French graphic designer A.M. Cassandre and printed in 1935. Produced by the Swiss printing house Lith.

Sauberlin & Pfeiffer S.A. in Vevey, the work is a quintessential example of Cassandre's bold, modernist style. The composition features a stylized hand reaching out toward the viewer, holding an opened pack of Pacific cigarettes, which prominently displays a locomotive graphic within a circular emblem. The design utilizes a stark black background to emphasize the foreground elements, which include the cigarette package and the brand name rendered in a prominent, block-letter typography.

The poster measures 88 x 126 cm and has been professionally mounted on linen, with total linen-backed dimensions of 90 x 128 cm. While minor imperfections exist in the white border, the black field and the primary motif remain untouched. This piece is signed by the artist, A.M. Cassandre, who is recognized as one of the most influential figures in the development of 20th-century commercial graphic design.
