This is a Hebdomas eight-day pocket watch dating to circa 1920, manufactured by Schild & Cie in La Chaux-de-Fonds, Switzerland. The model name 'Hebdomas' was a trademark registered in 1906. The design is associated with Swiss patent CH88A granted to Irénée Aubry on 10 January 1889, along with certificate of addition CH2E from 21 January 1889, which introduced the visible balance bridge.
The piece is held by the Musée d'Horlogerie of Le Locle, Switzerland.

Historical context
The Swiss municipality of La Chaux-de-Fonds, situated in the Jura Mountains in the Canton of Neuchâtel, was founded in 1656. Bound closely to the watchmaking trade, it emerged as the principal centre of the region known as the Watch Valley. Together with its neighbouring sister town of Le Locle, it gained UNESCO World Heritage status in 2009. The municipal Watch Museum of Le Locle, situated at Château des Monts north of the city centre, preserves collections dedicated to horology and time measurement.
