This open-dial verge pocket watch features a yellow and rose gold dial with engraving, bull's eye glass, and a rose gold stirrup bow. The watch can be key wound through the dial, though a winding square is also present on the back plate.
The movement has a verge escapement and an engraved balance cock that is not pierced. The piece bears a London hallmark dating to 1812, and the name bar is marked with serial number 5240. Part of the Applied Arts and Design collection, it is in the collection of the Mackelvie Trust Board (acquired in 1885) and on loan to the Auckland War Memorial Museum.
