This object is a lady's keywound open-faced pocket watch accompanied by its box. The watch features a cylinder bar movement, an embossed gold case, and an 18-carat gold dial decorated with a floral design in the centre. Repair dates engraved into the back of the case include 1871, 1876, 1882, and 1886.
The fitted red leather box features a cream silk and velvet interior with a raised section to hold the watch. The set is held in the Applied Arts and Design collection of the Auckland War Memorial Museum as a gift from Miss M G Brookes.
