This quarter repeating lever pocket watch dates to circa 1920. It features an openfaced gunmetal case equipped with a gilt bow, crown, and a gilt push-piece on the side that allows the wearer to sound the time.
The watch has an enamel dial with a subsidiary dial, inscribed 'swiss Made'. It is held in the Applied Arts and Design collection at the Auckland Museum Tāmaki Paenga Hira.

Historical context
The Auckland Museum, also known as Auckland War Memorial Museum (Māori: Tāmaki Paenga Hira), traces the origins of its collections to 1852. Following the formation of the Auckland Philosophical Society in 1867, it was transferred to the renamed Auckland Institute, functioning as the Auckland Institute and Museum until moving into its purpose-built neoclassical building opened in 1929.
