The École d’horlogerie de Genève (Geneva Watchmaking School) is the oldest watchmaking school in Switzerland and a globally renowned institution for fine mechanics and horology.

A hallmark of its curriculum is the tradition of the so-called Montre École (school watch), in which students design, manufacture, assemble, and regulate a complete watch entirely on their own over the course of their studies. In earlier times, the school was administered by the city or canton of Geneva and was, for a period, also responsible for awarding the famous Geneva Seal (Poinçon de Genève). The Poinçon de Genève (Geneva Seal) is a legally protected quality and origin hallmark for mechanical watches.

It certifies the highest level of craftsmanship, durability, and exclusive manufacturing within the canton of Geneva.
