James Tregent is first recorded in 1759 and was a member of the Clockmakers' Company from 1781 to 1808. He was appointed watchmaker to George, Prince of Wales. The early number of the movement and the rococo style of the case show that this watch dates from the early part of Tregent's watch-making career.
Enamelled gold watch, signed 'Jams Tregent, London, 350'.
