This 1901 lithograph poster on cardboard, titled 'Boer Paper,' is a seminal work by the Spanish modernist artist Ramón Casas Carbó. Measuring 51.5 x 36 cm (excluding its 74.5 x 56.5 cm frame), the composition is a definitive example of late nineteenth-century modernist advertising art.

The image depicts a woman seated on a blue sofa, elegantly dressed in a long blue suit, a fur stole, and a short-brimmed hat, holding a cigarette. In the background, a portrait of Paul Kruger, president of the South African Republic, serves as a focal point, linking the advertised product to the political imaginary of the Anglo-Boer War. The poster exhibits signature characteristics of Casas's style, including refined decorative elements, stylized elegance, and careful formal synthesis.

Signed in the lower right corner, the work reflects the modernist integration of art and commerce that established Casas as a leading figure in European poster design. This specific copy is noted as the only known testimony of this composition, having been preserved for decades within the artist's private family collection.
