Period

Sukashi tsuba, iron. Japan, Muromachi (1392 - 1568). HEIGHT 7, 2 CM A very good workmanship, light oval shape with two hitsu. A funny ape seated on top winding his very long arm around the rim, boars lying below, amidst an ox, a dog and opposite a rooster and a horse, a very plastic depiction, the end of the period is considered to be in the year 1568 or 1573.

From the private collection of an collector for Japanese swords and sword fittings Sehr gute Arbeit in leicht ovalrunder Form mit zwei Hitsu.
