Historical context

Monetized: April 16th, 1942. During WWII, Thailand joined Axis after Japanese invasion of Thailand . Thai government requested the Japanese government to print banknotes by commisioning The Mitsui Bussan Kaisha Company to act as an agent to contact the Japan Printing Bureau, resulted in Series 5 banknotes. Banknotes without signature and prefixes are assumed to be banknotes put into circulation by Japanese officers. While they are not stolen banknotes, there are no strong evidence recorded.
