"British Legends" is a Top Trumps Specials edition card game manufactured in 2011 in Europe. Designed by Guppi and distributed by Winning Moves, the set features cards celebrating British athletes from both past and present Olympic Games.

The complete deck originally comprised 30 athlete cards along with three additional cards: one explaining the game's rules, one with manufacturing details, copyright information, and a barcode, and one advertising other products. Each athlete card features photographs, biographical text, and statistics divided into five competitive categories: Olympic Golds, Total Medals, First Medal, Height (cm), and Games. The card reverses are blue, printed with photographs, pink logos, and text.

The deck is housed within a hard plastic carrying case that is blue on the back and sides, featuring a clear hinged plastic front section designed to open forwards to access the cards.

Historical context

Top Trumps is a competitive card game that became widespread in school playgrounds during the mid-1970s, having developed from quartets games that shared the goal of winning all opponents' cards. Initially marketed at pocket-money prices with themes such as cars, planes, and trucks, the brand was acquired in 1982 by Waddingtons, which broadened the subjects to include animals, sports teams, and horror characters. Winning Moves relaunched Top Trumps in 1999 with 30-card packs connected to popular culture, films, television series, and major events.
