This tobacco box and lid was manufactured in Leeds, Yorkshire, between circa 1890 and 1910. Made of lead-glazed earthenware, the container stands 13 cm in height. It is fashioned in an off-white earthenware body with applied loop handles on either side and a domed cover topped with a modelled floral finial.

The exterior of the box features relief-moulded decoration, including oval medallions, armorial-style shields, swags, and foliate borders, bounded at the margins by beaded and fluted decorative bands. The vessel is marked with 'LEEDS POTTERY', impressed twice into the clay.
