This object is a silver counter box accompanied by a set of silver counters, produced in Great Britain around 1705. The set is attributed to the maker Thomas Kedder. It comprises a cylindrical storage container designed to hold coin-like gaming or reckoning pieces, together with multiple matching circular counters.
The container features a tall, tubular silver body with molded bands near the upper rim and base, accompanied by a fitted circular lid. The top of the lid and the faces of the individual counters are embossed with raised figurative designs, including profile portraits and decorative motifs framed by beaded borders. The counters are thin, round discs sized to stack neatly within the cylindrical body of the box.
