Historical context
The poster advertised a pantomime production of The Sleeping Beauty staged at the Theatre Royal, Stratford East, opening on 5 December 1983. The production was written by playwright David Cregan with music by composer Brian Protheroe, and the cast included Ian Bartholomew, Darlene Johnson, Gordon Kaye, Olivier Pierre, and Joanne Whalley.
