Period

Circa early 1900s

This antique pocket watch is a classic example of a hunter-case design produced by the American Waltham Watch Company during the early 20th century. The watch features a gold-filled case manufactured by the Dennison Watch Case Company, specifically the 'Moon' model, which carries a 20-year guarantee mark.

The white enamel dial is accented with painted black Roman numerals, an outer minute track, and a dedicated subsidiary seconds dial positioned at the 6 o'clock mark, all complemented by spade-style hands. Internally, the timepiece is powered by a manual-wind Waltham 'Traveler' calibre movement, finished in gilt and containing 15 jewels. The watch has a diameter of 50 mm and an approximate gross weight of 114.75 grams.

Signatures for Waltham are present on the dial, movement, and case, which also bears marks identifying it as English make. The case is a hunter style, featuring a hinged cover that protects the dial. This vintage piece reflects the industrial precision and aesthetic sensibilities of early American watchmaking, combining a durable gold-filled exterior with a reliable mechanical movement.
