Model: Tank Américaine "Jumbo" Reference: 1734 Case Material: Platinum Bracelet Material: Leather strap Year: 1995 Movement: Manual, cal. 9P2, 18 jewels Case N°: GC11599 Movement N°: 9'309'244 Dimensions: 27mm width x 45mm lenght Signed: Case, dial and movement Accessories: Accompanied by Cartier Certificate and Guarantee dated 3rd December 1995 stamped Dickson Singapore, booklets, leather portfolio, fitted presentation box and Cartier travel pochette.

Introduced in the late 1980s, the Tank Américaine represents Cartier’s bold reinterpretation of the legendary Tank Cintrée, retaining the graceful curvature of its case while introducing a more substantial and distinctly modern presence. The present example is an especially compelling early execution, crafted entirely in platinum and preserved with its original presentation box and Cartier International Guarantee, dated 3 December 1995. The generously proportioned case combines broad polished brancards with finely brushed surfaces, creating a sophisticated interplay of light.

The silvered guilloché dial, featuring bold Roman numerals, Cartier’s signature railway minute track, secret signature and elegant blued-steel hands, is quintessentially Cartier. Powering the watch is the ultra-thin, hand-wound Calibre 9P2, signed Cartier and based on Piaget’s legendary 9P architecture, allowing the imposing curved case to retain an elegant and remarkably slender profile. An exceptional example combining precious material, refined design and early production characteristics.
