This silver commemorative medal was produced in 1909 in New York by an unknown American artist of the twentieth century. Measuring 3.8 cm (1 1/2 in.) in diameter, the circular medal features a raised rim and a small integral suspension loop at the top edge, indicating it was designed to be suspended or worn.

The obverse face depicts the dual relief busts of two men in profile facing left, placed in overlapping perspective. Encircling the central figures along the raised border is inscribed lettering commemorating historical figures and dates, with an additional year date placed centrally along the bottom border. Categorized as metalwork and American decorative arts, the piece forms part of a pair of commemorative medals gifted by the Commission to mark the Hudson-Fulton Celebration.
