Ilse Hohenreuther (13.03.1911 Karlsruhe – 31.05.1952 Karlsruhe) is among the female artists who have not been taken into account in previous research on women and whose work remained undiscovered in public perception. While the work of Bauhaus women or Jewish female artists has long been brought to light, especially on the occasion of the Bauhaus jubilee in 2019, a large host of unknown female designers who await discovery and the recognition due to them was still left behind.

This circumstance applies to most of the women working at the Staatliche Majolika-Manufaktur.
