Tile with floral decoration, Keramikfabrik Utzschneider & Co. (Saargemünd) is held by Badisches Landesmuseum Karlsruhe. Museum description: The founding of a small pottery in 1790 begins in Sarreguemines (Saargemünd) with the brothers Nicolas and Augustin Jacoby and Joseph Fabry.

Augustin Jacoby's shares were bought in 1799 by Paul Utzschneider, who came from Bavaria. Shortly afterwards, the shares of his brother Nicolas Jacoby were also transferred to Paul Utzschneider and Joseph Fabry. From then on, the company received the name "Fabry Utzschneider & Compagnie". Through Utzschneider, new techniques were introduced to produce white earthenware after the English model as well as white and red Wedgwood ware from 1808.

In 1828, transfer-printed decors were also offered. A continental blockade of English goods enabled the company to grow in the 1820s. From 1836, management of the manufactory was handed over to Baron Alexandre de Geiger (1808-1891), the husband of Utzschneider's daughter Pauline.
