The shimmering, flat mother-of-pearl bowl of this ornamental spoon is provided in a contrasting manner with a branching coral branch as a handle. The two parts are joined by a silver mount with a running spiral tendril and a mascaron on the front. The spoon is mentioned in the 1859 inventory of the Karlsruhe Kunstkammer. The collection record gives measurements length: 14.1 cm. Published through Europeana; how far this object represents a wider collectible type has not yet been independently verified.
