Lacquered shield clock with Capuchin monk, Anton Scherzinger, Furtwangen c. 1860, Michael Dorer (master clockmaker), 1860 is held by German Clock Museum, dated 1860. Museum description: The monk standing in the entrance of the chapel regularly rings for the Angelus prayer. On this clock, the mechanism is triggered at 2:00 p.m. at midday instead of 12:00 noon. For a long time, this automaton clock was attributed to Michael Dorer. In the 19th century, however, no automaton clockmaker of this name is documented in Furtwangen, but merely a dealer in costume jewelry and colonial goods around 1845. (Deutsches Uhrenmuseum Furtwangen) The museum record gives measurements height: 39.80 cm, width: 25.00 cm, depth: 23.00 cm; maker recorded: Michael Dorer (master clockmaker); Anton Scherzinger. These details come from the holding museum's own record; how far this object represents a wider collectible type has not yet been independently verified.
