Design
- Visible features
- • Three-panel curved gilt brass case standing on a matching curved base plinth. • Central clock dial with day and month apertures, lower calendar track, and a moon phase aperture below 12 o'clock. • Left panel houses a barometer dial and right panel houses a Celsius and Fahrenheit thermometer dial with blue steel indicator hands.
- Mechanical Status
- Functionality of the integrated instruments and clock movement is reported as inconsistent. The day, date, and alarm functions were operational at the time of cataloging, as was the thermometer. The barometer was noted as not working at the time of cataloging. Regarding the clock movement, the source states both that it is 'not working' and that it is 'in working order,' though it has not been tested for accuracy.
- Dial and Condition
- The central silvered dial displays the time and incorporates apertures for day, month, and moon phase, along with a date track. Condition reports note scratches near the base of the hands and corrosion around the dial edges. The hands appear to have been relumed, and the case exhibits scratches.
- Construction and Configuration
- This desk weather station features a three-panel design composed of gilt brass, arranged in an arc and mounted on a curved plinth. The central panel houses a silvered clock dial, while the left panel contains a barometer and the right panel contains a thermometer. The thermometer dial features concentric scales for Celsius and Fahrenheit measurements, with blue steel indicator hands.
