This 10 000 Rials note was issued in Iran by the Central Bank of Iran, dated 1981. It belongs to the Second Rial (1932-date) currency system. Issuing authority and period recorded in the catalogue: Islamic Republic (1979-date). It measures 160 × 77 mm and is printed on paper. The Standard Catalog of World Paper Money lists the type as Pick 134. Numista identifies the design as “Islamic Revolution”.

Obverse: Dark blue and green on yellow and multicolor underprint. Tazahrati with mullahs leading marchers carrying posters of Ayatollah Khomeini. Its lettering reads “بانک مرکزی ایران / جمهوری اسلامی ایران / ده هزار ریال”. Translation given in the catalogue: “Bank Markazi Iran. Islamic Republic of Iran. Ten thousand rials.”. Reverse: Blue and light-red print. Imam Reza shrine in Mashad. Its lettering reads “ISLAMIC REPUBLIC OF IRAN 10000 / BANK MARKAZI IRAN / 10000 / TEN THOUSAND RIALS”.
