Medallic Art Co. silvered bronze Abraham Lincoln commemorative medallion and bronze pendant
Record status
Individual type · partial
This set consists of an Abraham Lincoln commemorative medallion and a matching smaller pendant, both produced by the Medallic Art Co. of New York. The medallion features a portrait profile of Abraham Lincoln, with the inscription "Feb 12 1809 - April 14 1865" arching along the left side and "Abraham Lincoln" along the right.
The design includes the name "Calverley" at the base of the neck, denoting the sculptor. The larger medallion is rendered in a silvered bronze finish, measuring approximately 2.6 inches (6.8 cm) in diameter. The smaller pendant, fashioned from bronze, replicates the design of the medallion in a miniature format and includes a suspension loop at the top for use as jewelry. Both pieces utilize identical relief portraits of the former United States president to commemorate his birth and death dates.
