This is a bronze medal made by Jacques Wiener in Belgium in about 1869-70. The obverse of this medal represents the bust of the late Prince Consort. The reverse shows a wreath of oak leaves with inscriptions.

The medal commemorates the inauguration of a memorial on 10th June 1863, in honour of Prince Albert as the founder of the international exhibitions 1851 and 1862. The Memorial is now located opposite the Royal Albert Hall's south entrance and records the success of the Great Exhibition, held in Hyde Park in 1851 organised by Henry Cole and Prince Albert.
