Embroidered badge for the English International Table Tennis Team. It has a central star motif based on the theme of the English rose within a roundel. Projecting from the main body of the badge is a double motif of flattened ovals and below are two pips to indicate that the owner was captain of the team.

On a blue silk repp. applied ground, the roundel and star are executed in raised, variable satin stitch and straight filling stitches in red and white embroidery silks, and applied red silk repp. The pips are executed in yellow silks, and the badge is outlined with satin stitch in blue silk. All on a dark navy serge ground with a plain weave cotton strengthening layer. The back has remnants of black paper covering, once glued all over the back.
