Wall clock veneered with walnut on an oak core. Mounted on the fretted vase-shaped backboard are open brackets that support the clock case. The latter has a molded base and cornice, twisted corner columns, and glass doors on the sides.
The dial is made of brass; gilded cast cherubs serve as spandrels. The backing is of black velvet. The case is surmounted in the center by a bell with a figure of Atlas, and has cast lead pediments with foliate scrollwork on the front and sides; on the front stands a woman with a book (Faith) on the globe, with Death with scythe and torch on the left, and a weeping woman with an hourglass on her head on the right; on the sides are shield-bearing lions, under which is the motto: "Nu elck zijn zin".
The pendulum appears in an oval opening in the backboard and is shaped as a horseman. Below it on the backboard is a sea nymph sounding a trumpet. The two weights hang from chains. Marked on the dial: Jan Koogies, Wormerveer.
