This commemorative medal, measuring 77mm (3.25 inches) in diameter, was struck in 1986 by the Paris Mint (Monnaie de Paris) to mark the 40th anniversary of the French charitable organization Secours Catholique.

Crafted from heavy cast or struck patinated bronze with a golden-brass finish, the medal features a sculptural religious motif designed by artist C. Mathioly. The obverse includes the commemorative date 23–11–86, the inscription "40 EME DU SECOURS CATHOLIQUE," the phrase "DIEU EST AMOUR," and is signed by the artist with the post-nominal letters "O.C.D." (Ordo Carmelitarum Discalceatorum). The reverse features a high-relief depiction of the crucified and risen Christ, surrounded by the liturgical inscription in French: "POUR NOUS LE CHRIST EST MORT ET IL EST RESSUSCITÉ" (For us Christ has died and He has risen).

This large-format religious medal serves as a physical testament to the organization's four decades of humanitarian work established by Abbé Jean Rodhain in 1946.
