Bronze commemorative medal (55mm) designed by Andor Meszaros (made by K.G.Luke) engraved verso "V.F.L. JUBILEE PREMIERSHIP CARNIVAL - Won By - COLLINGWOOD FOOTBALL CLUB - PLAYER - R.

RICHARDS - 9/5/51" The federal government had declared a special "Jubilee Day" public holiday to mark the 1901–1951 milestone. To mark the event, the VFL created a lightning tournament featuring all 12 senior clubs between rounds 3 and 4 of the regular season. The tournament, officially known as the Jubilee-Centenary Lightning Premiership, was held at the MCG to celebrate 50 years of the Federation of Australia. Collingwood won the title by defeating Melbourne by 6 points in the Grand Final.

The Collingwood squad, featuring club legends of the era, navigated the knockout brackets to secure their second official Lightning Premiership flag. Only the players who took the field that day were presented with these uniquely designed, historic medals.
