This object is an embossed silver book binding with embossed and engraved clasps, created in Germany around 1731 for the book titled "Neues Kommunion-Buchlein", which was published in Nuremberg in 1731.

The front cover features a central scene depicting the Sacrifice of Isaac, showing Abraham and Isaac with a cherubic figure above. This central vignette is framed by ornate embossed decoration composed of acanthus leaves and C-scrolls. Above this scene rests a sacrificial lamb on a platter with radiating brilliant rays, while military device motifs appear in each corner of the cover. According to the record, the back cover depicts the Crucifixion in the centre, also enclosed by acanthus foliage and C-scrolls, surmounted by the Holy Grail and accented at each corner with military device motifs consisting of ladders, tools, crosses, and palettes. The binding is rendered entirely in silver using embossing techniques.
