School badge in the Victoria and Albert Museum, London (museum number B.181-2000), made in England, dated 1920-1929. The museum's brief description reads: School badge (Westminster City School uniform); England, 1920-29.
Museum description: School badge, embroidered in red, white and yellow silks on black wool over an embossed linen backing. The badge combines the coats of arms of the cities of London and Westminster, each contained within an oval cartouche, and conjoined by a mace. It also carries the motto 'UNITATE FORTIOR', which was adopted for the United Westminster Schools (of which Westminster City School was one) in 1873. It is intended for attachment to a blazer pocket, and may well have been the original one attached to B.178-2000; its shape is that of a rounded rectangle with a smaller rounded element on top.
The museum records it as Embroidered wool with embossed linen, measuring Height 11 cm; Width 9.8 cm. These details come from the museum's own record; how far this object represents a wider collectible type has not yet been independently verified.
