"Elsie's book" is an embroidered child's rag-book and book cover created in 1951 in Hampshire by designer and embroiderer Jeanne Mount. The work is crafted from Dayella, a blend of wool and cotton textile, and measures 17.5 inches in length by 4.5 inches in width.

The elongated textile item is worked in simple embroidery stitches utilizing rich colours against a pale white fabric base. On one section, the embroidered lettering spells out "ELSIE'S BOOK", framed by a decorative border and accompanied by a central blue butterfly motif. Additional sections feature embroidered caterpillar and insect motifs spaced across the horizontal surface.
