This object is a French postcard titled "Modern chemise" from the series "La chemise á travers les ages." Created around 1901 by the artist Louis La Riverend, it is produced on card using a colour halftone process. The individual postcard measures approximately 9 cm in height by 14 cm in width, mounted inside an album that measures 25.8 cm high, 21 cm wide, and 7 cm deep.

The illustration depicts an interior scene featuring a woman seated upon an ornate sofa. She is dressed in a transparent garment and blue stockings, positioned beside a covered table with decorative furnishings and ceramics in the background. She is depicted looking toward the picture of a man. The right section of the card face provides blank space, typical of undivided back postcard designs of the period.
