The scene is staged with the groom portrayed as a woman dressed in male drag.
The card is made of card stock featuring a handcoloured photograph, also described as a gelatin silver print. In the interior view, draped curtains, wall hangings, a bedside table with an alarm clock, and clothing slung over a chair are visible alongside the large bed covered in ornate bedding. The card measures approximately 9 cm in height by 14 cm in width, and forms part of an album that measures 25.8 cm high, 21 cm wide, and 7 cm deep.
