This object is a printed postcard entitled "Sposi in Viaggio (Betrothed on their travels)," produced circa 1902 in Milan by an unknown maker. Printed on card using lithography, the postcard measures approximately 9 cm in height and 14 cm in width, mounted inside an album measuring 25.8 cm high, 21 cm wide, and 7 cm deep.
The visual design is split into two simultaneous scenes divided by a doorway and framed by a dark decorative border. On the right side, an undressing couple is shown kissing next to a bed, with the bride depicted bare-breasted. On the left side of the composition, several hotel staff members gather and stream toward a peephole in the door to look inside at the newlywed couple.

Historical context
This item forms part of the Milford Haven Collection, an assemblage of 442 French, Italian, and German postcards dating from the early twentieth century mounted across three bound albums. Formerly owned by a member of the Milford Haven family, the collection was accompanied by a 1960 typed catalogue and was acquired by E.J. Dingwall that same year.
