Wall clock in the Victoria and Albert Museum, London (museum number W.8-2020), made in Denmark, dated after 1952, circa 1952, attributed to Finn Juhl. The museum's brief description reads: Wall clock, designed by Finn Juhl, Denmark, not later than 1952, maker unknown, made after 1952, carved and painted wood with aluminium dials.. Museum description: This wall clock consists of a mahogany-like wood dish-shaped clock face painted in black. The clock’s numerals are distinguished by small aluminium roundels that circle its border. Each quarter of the clock is illustrated by the repetition of two roundels stacked beside one another. Two aluminium hands of the same finish are hinged to the clock face at its central point, representing the minute and hour hands. The hour hand is thicker and shorter, distinguishing it from the minute hand, which is slimmer and culminates just before the edge of the roundels. The back of the clock face consists of an aluminium bracket for mounting, which also conceals a hook and the clock’s electrical mechanism. The museum records it as Painted wood, aluminium hands and hour markers, electrical mechanism, measuring Diameter 49.5 cm. These details come from the museum's own record; how far this object represents a wider collectible type has not yet been independently verified.
