Period
1942
This is an original Third Reich SA-Sportabzeichen award booklet, or Urkunde & Leistungsbuch, which served as both an official certificate and performance log for the SA Defense Badge.
Measuring approximately 5.75 x 4.2 inches, the booklet features a durable, textured brown hardback cover. The front is decorated with gilt embossing of the SA Sports Badge insignia, depicting a vertical Roman sword over a swastika, surrounded by an oak leaf wreath, accompanied by the word "Urkunde" in Fraktur script. The interior is personalized to Hans-Werner Bittner of Breslau, born in 1924, and includes an original affixed photograph in uniform with an official purple ink stamp.
The document contains a printed decree from Adolf Hitler dated 18 March 1937, regulations signed by SA-Stabschef Viktor Lutze, and a qualification entry dated 3 February 1942, signed by a Hauptmann und Bataillonsführer. It is further authenticated by the stamp of the S.A. Gruppe Schlesien.
