Period

20th century

This Alfred Dunhill tobacco pipe is an XL-sized example finished in the brand's celebrated Amber Root style. Crafted from polished briar wood, the bowl displays a high-contrast grain, complemented by a rusticated, craggy-textured plateau rim.

The pipe features a bent stem manufactured from cumberland-patterned vulcanite, characterized by a distinct marbled brown and black appearance, which is accented with the brand's iconic white spot inlay. The underside of the shank is stamped with the Alfred Dunhill name enclosed in an oval, accompanied by the characters "HT" over "XL." The opposite side bears stamps reading "COLLECTOR," "AMBER ROOT," and "MADE IN ENGLAND 24."

The pipe is presented in its original black leather-textured box with gold-tooled borders, arriving with a black leather drawstring pouch and a black outer cardboard sleeve labeled with the Alfred Dunhill name, shape specifications, and origin. Measuring 3" H x 8 1/4" W x 4" D, the pipe is documented as being in excellent, unsmoked condition with no evidence of charring or stem wear.
