Period

1921 or 1923

This collection consists of two sheets of German Notgeld, or emergency money, printed on silk. The sheets contain between 6 and 12 colored notes each. The first sheet is a 25 Mark note issued by the Bielefeld Municipal Savings Bank to commemorate the 700th anniversary of the city of Bielefeld, dating to 1921.

The second sheet features a 10,000 Mark note from the same municipal savings bank, dating to 1923. Both items were printed by Gundlach. The dimensions of the sheets are approximately 35 x 40 cm and 35 x 47 cm. These items are distinct examples of silk-printed inflationary-era emergency currency, featuring detailed graphic designs, historical inscriptions, and political commentary typical of the Notgeld issues from the Bielefeld region during the early 1920s.
