Coin in bronze struck at Kabyle in Thrace, dated c. 260–240 BC. Corpus Nummorum, the online type corpus of the Berlin-Brandenburg Academy of Sciences and Humanities, records it as CN type 11763 (period: Hellenistic Period; issuing authority type: city).

Obverse: Head of Artemis, right; behind, bow and quiver. Reverse: Cult statue (xoanon) of Artemis (Phosphorus), standing facing on pedestral, holding torch in each hand. Measured specimens give a mean weight of 1.86 g (mean of 9 recorded specimens) and a diameter of 12–15 mm (from 8 recorded specimens). Recorded findspots: Jambol Region. Historical context

This coin was struck at Kabyle, an ancient town in the interior of Thrace located along the river Tonsus, west of Develtus. Also known as Cabyle, Calybe, or Kalibe, and in later times named Diospolis and Goloë, the settlement produced civic coinage during the Hellenistic Period. Struck circa 260–240 BC, the piece represents city-issued bronze currency from this regional Thracian centre.
