Large denomination (bronze) struck at Elaious in Thrace, dated c. 350–281 BC. Corpus Nummorum, the online type corpus of the Berlin-Brandenburg Academy of Sciences and Humanities, records it as CN type 12039 (period: Classical/Hellenistic Period; issuing authority type: city).

Obverse: Prow, right. Reverse: Legend within wreath. Legend: ΕΛΑΙΟΥΣΙΩΝ. Measured specimens give a mean weight of 6.99 g (mean of 5 recorded specimens) and a diameter of 20 mm (from 4 recorded specimens). Historical context

Elaeus, also known as Elaious, was an ancient Greek city in Thrace situated on the Thracian Chersonese, near modern Turkey's Gallipoli peninsula. Positioned at the southern end of the Hellespont, the settlement was noted as a colony founded by settlers from Ionian Teos according to the geographer Scymnus, or by Phorbas as a colony of Athens according to Pseudo-Scymnus. This civic bronze issue dates to around 350–281 BC during the Classical or Hellenistic period.
