Linear border. Legend: ΟVΛΠΙΑϹ ΠΑVΤΑΛΙΑϹ. Measured specimens give a mean weight of 6.48 g (mean of 2 recorded specimens) and a diameter of 21.7–22.5 mm (from 1 recorded specimen).

Historical context
Pautalia, an ancient city of Thrace located in modern Kyustendil, Bulgaria, received the name Ulpia Pautalia after Emperor Trajan. Under Roman imperial rule, the city minted its own coins from the reigns of Antoninus Pius to Caracalla, governed by archons, city councillors and an assembly (Boule). Annia Galeria Faustina the Younger, daughter of Antoninus Pius, served as Roman empress from 161 until her death in 175 or 176 as the wife of Marcus Aurelius, bearing the title Augusta.
